Solar Panel Tax: The government of Pakistan is considering imposing a tax on residential and commercial solar panel users.

Tax on solar panels has become a hot button issue in Pakistan as the government has in the past promoted solar energy to reduce dependence on oil based energy. This is the reason why people started installing solar panels freely for their residential and commercial purposes but imposing a tax will discourage them.

A day earlier, reports emerged that the Central Power Purchase Agency (CPPA) had proposed a tax hike on residential and commercial consumers. The federal government has not made any decision in this regard yet.
