Muslim community was used as vote bank by Kong but they remained poor: Eknath Shinde
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Maharashtra): Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Ekanth Shinde on Thursday criticized the Congress party, saying the Muslim community was used as a vote bank by the grand old party, but members of the minority community remained poor.
“Now, they (Congress) are saying we will change the constitution because they have nothing else left. The false propaganda that the constitution will be changed continues. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made it clear that no one can change BR Ambedkar’s constitution as long as there is sun and moon,” Shinde said .
Talking to a media interaction, the Maharashtra Chief Minister said that the Congress has no authority to issue the manifesto as they are setting the state back by 50-60 years.
“The downfall of the country was witnessed before 2014. There was corruption, riots and bombings were witnessed… People have now decided to vote for 400 plus seats (for the BJP-led NDA). If the country wants justice, if the country wants to become a superpower, there is no No choice but Prime Minister Modi,” Shinde said.
On the NCP (SP) manifesto which proposed setting up a committee to address the problems faced by farmers and functioning without political interference and also zero VAT on agricultural and educational products, Eknath Shinde said: “Sharad Pawar was the Union Agriculture Minister and Prime Minister four times. Why did the farmers meet their current fate?
“We have paid compensation to farmers in the last two years. The government gave 15,000 million rupees to farmers affected by heavy rains and hailstorms. The Re 1 Crop insurance scheme was introduced. Ours is a government that will stand up for farmers,” he added.
