Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar again made it clear that whatever is happening in Canada over the killing of pro-Khalistan terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijar is due to their internal politics. This massacre has nothing to do with India.

Jaishankar made this comment on a question asked by Justin Trudeau about his criticism of India. Talking to journalists, he said, some supporters of Khalistan are using Canada’s democracy to create a lobby there. He became a vote bank. The ruling party in Canada does not have a majority in parliament and some parties depend on pro-Khalistan leaders. According to him, we have explained to them many times that they should not give visa, legality or political space to such people who are also creating problems in India-Canada relations. But Canada did nothing.

Map on the note: Nepal’s unilateral decision

On Nepal’s decision to print a new map with Indian territories in the 100 rupee note, Jaishankar said, this decision of Kathmandu is unilateral. Border talks are ongoing between the two countries. We have seen the report related to the map. Nepal cannot change the status quo.

Need for a vigorous and committed government in Odisha

Jaishankar said Odisha needs a vigorous and committed government to work as a partner with the Narendra Modi government at the Centre. He claimed that the country, which is rich in natural and human resources, lags behind in development. The foreign minister said, Odisha has not developed as much as it has resources. There was not much development of manufacturing in the country. Therefore, it needs a vigorous and committed government that can act as an ally to the Modi government at the Centre.
