Islamabad: The federal government has announced to conduct an inquiry into judges’ letters. While holding a press conference along with the Attorney General in Islamabad, Prime Minister Nazir Tarar said that the issue of the letter of 6 judges of the Islamabad High Court has come to light, the letter that came was hyped on the media and the social media.
Azam Nazir Tarar said that the Prime Minister decided to meet the Chief Justice despite his busy schedule. The meeting between the Chief Justice and the Prime Minister of the UK lasted for an hour and a half. The Prime Minister said that there will be no compromise on independence that should investigate this matter, the First Minister will place the matter before the cabinet tomorrow.
The federal government has announced to conduct an investigation into the matter of the judges’ letter. Azam Nazir Tarar said that an inquiry will be led by impartial retired judges, Azam Nazir Tarar said that a commission will be formed after considering the names of senior retired Supreme Court judges.
He said that a principled decision had been made to form a commission. The head of the commission cannot be named ahead of time. The name of the head of the commission will be announced in the next two to four days. The Commission’s TORs are decided in consultation with the Attorney General.
