RCMP have identified 28-year-old Brianna Hayes of Oxbow, Sask. As a victim in an ongoing homicide investigation in the southeast of the county.

As a result, police have charged 24-year-old Taylor Japp, also of Oxbow, with second-degree murder, an RCMP news release said.

Japp will appear in court in Regina on Monday, April 29, RCMP said in a release.

On Thursday, police said they arrested 27-year-old Tyler Shaw of Gainsboro, Sask. and accused him of aiding and abetting the murder.

Shaw made his first court appearance Friday morning in Regina.

The initial investigation began when Carlyle RCMP were notified of a possible homicide on April 24.

Police said the body of an adult woman was discovered in a rural location in the RM of Moss Mountain on Thursday afternoon.

RCMP said they also searched the Oxbow dump as part of the investigation, but noted no human remains were found.

Police said they are continuing to investigate and are asking anyone with information about Hayes’ death or who interacted with her between April 24-26 to call 310-RCMP.

Information can also be submitted anonymously through Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
