Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered a heavy defeat in IPL. They lost to Bengaluru by 35 runs at home. Batting first, Royal Challengers Bangalore scored 206 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. The Sunrisers were restricted to 171 runs in pursuit of the target. This is the third win in 9 matches for Sunrisers in the tournament.
Chasing the target of 206 runs, Sunrisers struggled from the very start. Head (1) was dismissed in the first instance. Abhishek Sharma (31) flashed for a while but could not stay at the crease for long. Markaram (7) and Clawson (7), who wanted to help, went out in single digits. At the end of the powerplay, Sunrisers lost 4 crucial wickets for 62 runs and fell into dire straits. Abdul Samad (10) and Nitish Reddy (13), who came later, immediately joined the pavilion, and Sunrisers’ defeat was final. Cummins (31) flashed for a while at this point but it was not enough for the team to win.
