Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray was seen attacking his cousin and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray while addressing a rally on Saturday. He claimed that if BJP had accepted Uddhav’s demand for the post of Chief Minister of Maharashtra, he would not have said anything against the saffron party. He asked Uddhav Thackeray, if BJP had accepted your offer to share the post of Chief Minister for two and a half years, would you have said what you are saying today. Raj said- you were silent for power.

Raj Thackeray was addressing a rally to vote for Union Minister Narayan Rane, the BJP candidate from the Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg Lok Sabha constituency. During this, he justified his support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi by citing the construction of Ram temple and abrogation of Article 370 along with other reasons.

Ahead of the 2019 elections, Raj launched scathing attacks on Prime Minister Modi

Let us tell you that the MNS chief supported PM Modi in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, but before the 2019 elections, he made scathing attacks on the PM in rallies. At the same time, after the 2019 assembly elections, Uddhav Thackeray broke his decades-long alliance with the BJP as the BJP refused to share the CM’s post with him.

Counter-attack on allegations of diversion of investments from Maharashtra

Meanwhile, Raj hit back at Shiv Sena’s (UBT) claim that investments were being diverted from Maharashtra. He asked what Uddhav did when he was an ally of the ruling BJP from 2014 to 2019 and then the Prime Minister from 2019 to 2022. The MNS chief asked- You were in power for seven and a half years. Why did the investment end in the meantime? Why did you keep silent?

Example given by Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg MP Raut

The MNS chief Raj also attacked Uddhav for opposing major projects like the nuclear power plant in Jaitpur and an oil refinery in the Konkan on the pretext that the ecology of the coastal region would be damaged. He claimed that there are instances where the sitting Member of Parliament for Shiv Sena (UBT) Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg Vinayak Raut, who has been re-nominated by the party, will oppose the project, while the local MLAs from the same party will support it.
