Ahead of the Solar Eclipse that will cross North America on April 8, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has warned of possible delays and disruptions to air traffic.

The clip will cross North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. The total Solar Eclipse will begin over the South Pacific. The eclipse path will affect the United States from approximately 1830-1940 UTC.

The FAA, in a statement, warned pilots of the possible effects on air traffic and airports along the eclipse path during April 7-10.

“…pilots should prepare for operational changes and higher than normal traffic volumes at airports located along the path of the eclipse,” Obsev reported, citing a statement.

This includes Burlington International Airport, Syracuse Hancock International Airport, Indianapolis International Airport, Fort Wayne Airport, Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, Buffalo Niagara International Airport and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.

There are hundreds of airports within 50 nautical miles of the entire route. It will cut across over a dozen states in the US – from Texas to Maine.
