Dubai: The UAE cricket team qualified for the 2025 Asia Cup after 9 years after defeating Oman by 55 runs in the final of the ACC Men’s Premier Cup also impressively while fast bowler Junaid Siddiqui led the bowling attack along with Ayan Afzal Khan to help UAE win the final easily. He was ably supported by partner Ali Shan Sharfu who contributed 34 runs in an opening partnership of 94 runs.

Junaid Siddiqui took 3 wickets for 38 runs in 4 overs while Ayan Afzal Khan took 2 wickets for 29 runs and restricted Oman to 149 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stated 20 overs. Mohammad Wasim, the captain of the UAE team, ended the ACC Premier League Cup just 9 runs behind his opening partner. It hasn’t been long since Wasim shone in the DP World ILT20 2024, where he played a prominent role in his MI Emirates team winning the championship.
