The great Russian chess player Garry Kasparov recently posted on social media about Rahul Gandhi. Now that this post has gone viral, Garry Kasparov has clarified saying that he was just making a little joke and he hopes people will take it as a joke. In fact, Garry Kasparov commented on a post about Rahul Gandhi contesting the election from Rae Bareli.

Garry Kasparov kidnapped Rahul Gandhi

Recently Congress shared a video of Rahul Gandhi on its social media handle. In this video, Rahul Gandhi is seen playing chess on his mobile. During this, Rahul Gandhi told his favorite chess player Garry Kasparov and also compared the game of chess and politics. Rahul Gandhi said that when you get better at politics and the game of chess, the opposition’s tools also work as well as yours.

A social media user jokingly wrote, ‘Great relief that Garry Kasparov and Vishwanthan Anand retired early and didn’t have to face the greatest chess talent of our time.’ Referring to this video, Garry Kasparov, in a post shared on social media, wrote almost mockingly at Rahul Gandhi that ‘the traditional instructions are that you have to beat Rae Bareli before challenging you at the top’.

Kasparov now told the joke

Now he wrote in a new post that he was just making a little joke and he hopes that his joke will not be seen as expertise. This post by Garry Kasparov came at a time when Rahul Gandhi filed nomination from Rae Bareli, the traditional Lok Sabha seat of the Congress, on Friday itself. Garry Kasparov retired from the game of chess in 2005. Kasparov is considered a staunch critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin and was therefore forced to leave Russia. Today Kasparov lives in Croatia. Kasparov became the world champion at the age of only 22 and was the first player in the world for 255 consecutive weeks.
