Yesterday the Queen revealed that the Princess of Wales is ‘delighted’ by all the support she has received since announcing that she was being treated for cancer.
She made the comment on a trip to the Shrewsbury Farmers Market, where 2,000 well-wishers turned up to see her.
After two of her daughters handed out hand-drawn get well soon cards for the princess, Camilla said: “I know Catherine is delighted with all the well wishes and kind support.”
She promised Lois, six, and Harriet, 10, “I’ll take care of them and make sure she knows they’re coming.”
Afterwards, Harriet said, “We heard the news and I wanted to hold the poster up to show my love to Kate.”
Their mother Lucy Waterston said, “She said she will certainly send her love.”
The messages come after the princess revealed in a personal video message last week that she was receiving the “early stages” of preventative chemotherapy.
Another member of the crowd asked Queen Camilla to pass on her best wishes to the King who is also being treated for an undisclosed form of cancer.
Camilla, dressed in a brown leopard print blouse by Fiona Clare, a brown skirt and coat by Anna Valentine and two jaunty brooches – one her own, a bumblebee, and one belonging to Queen Elizabeth which appeared to be a fly – thanked a woman who said she was “thinking about her”.
She was also presented with a rose by Abi Creighton, 19, who has Down’s Syndrome. The Queen told her she would “treasure” him.
Abi’s mum said: “She’s a huge fan, she takes a picture of the Queen to her bed every night. She loves her”.
