Mardan: An exchange of fire took place between the railway police and porters at the Mardan railway station, resulting in the martyrdom of two police constables and the injury of one, ARY News reported on Sunday.
According to the details, four porters were also injured in the exchange of fire and several others were arrested.
According to the police, the incident occurred due to a dispute over the lease at the train station. The railway authorities sealed off the mall yesterday, leading to tensions between the two groups.
Earlier, Superintendent of Police (SP) Ijaz Khan was killed while three other officials, including Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), were injured during an encounter with terrorists in Mardan’s Zada ​​Mata area, police said.

The encounter erupted when law enforcement agencies engaged in a fierce exchange of fire with terrorists, which led to the death of SP Ijaz Khan.
The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) spokesperson confirmed the incident and added that the brave SP fell victim to indiscriminate firing by the terrorists.
The injured officials, including the DSP, were rushed to the hospital for urgent medical treatment.
During the operation, the police forces responded with terrorists, and as a result, two wanted militants were neutralized.
