Kelly Scott, who runs the trainer and horses at Cadnam, said she had only good words to say about Joe Gadden.

During that time, he has built many valued relationships with clients and staff.

Kelly described him as “a kind and good boy.”

She said: “Joe was a hard worker and would help anyone – he had a heart of gold.

“When we inspected the pub last year, he showed us around and was really helpful.

“Joe was a really good bartender who had the gift of the jab. We were sad to see him leave the pub a few months ago.”

She added: “He loved playing his guitar. He sold us his guitar, and it was on our wall.

“On the Friday before last he came in and played for us, and then this picture was taken.”

The bartender, Nancy Kimber, also paid tribute to Joe.

She said: “When we took over the pub, he was here for the first two months.

“He trained me on the cash register and I loved working with him, it was fun to work with him.

“Joe was very, very bubbly and a really humorous character.

“He loved to play his guitar and he was a friendly person about everything.

“He had a lot of good relationships with the bar staff and customers.

“Joe will be missed. He only came to see us a week ago. It’s devastating.”

It comes after Joe’s mother Janet took to Facebook to launch an emotional appeal for the man responsible to come forward.

She wrote: “Heartbroken mom, please someone has to know something and if it was you, you have no idea what you did to our family, you tore us apart, he was my son and the pain is unbearable, he was only 28 and had his whole life ahead of him, some decency And at least now, do the right thing and move on!”

Southampton FC fans are also calling for a minute long ovation in the 28th minute of Saints’ game against Preston on Tuesday.

A reporter at X, formerly Twitter, a user said: “#saintsfc can we have a 28th minute ovation for Joe Gooden who was tragically killed on Thursday night.

“Hit by a driver who failed to stop. A huge Southampton fan who will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
