The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rejected the government’s announcement of a commission of inquiry headed by a retired judge to investigate the Islamabad High Court judges’ letter.
In the statement issued after the meeting of the core committee, great concern was expressed regarding the meeting of the Chief Justice with the Prime Minister of the UK on the most sensitive issue of the judiciary.
PTI has demanded that the matter be placed before a larger bench of the Supreme Court and tried in open court.
The core committee says the judges’ letter is an indictment of federal government agencies.
