Current Lok Sabha Member of Parliament from Erode, Tamil Nadu, A MDMK. Ganeshmurthy died on Thursday morning. According to the information, he died due to cardiac arrest at 5:05am today. Let us tell you that he was admitted to a private hospital on 24 March after he tried to kill himself, after which he was undergoing treatment.

Was admitted to hospital on Sunday morning

Police said 77-year-old MP Ganeshmurthy was brought to the hospital by his family around 9.30am on Sunday. After checking, the doctors shifted him to ICU and he was put on ventilator. The Erode Town police had earlier registered a case of attempted suicide. At the same time, he said it will now be changed to a case of death by suicide.

The hospital authorities handed over the body to the police. The body was subsequently taken to the Institute of Road Transport (IRT) Medical College Hospital for examination. Party sources said that after the post-mortem, his body will be taken to Kumaravalasu village, 15 km from here, and his last rites will be performed there.

The family members claim- MP has eaten poison

According to a report, his family members said that the MP had consumed sulfas pesticide poison. Reports claimed that MP A Ganeshmurthy tried to kill himself after not getting a ticket for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. However, when the doctors were asked about this, they refused to give any statement on this. The MP was later admitted to a private hospital in Coimbatore.

Ganeshmurthy was elected MP in 2019. Earlier he had won the Lok Sabha elections from Palani in 1998 and Erode in 2009. Ganeshmurthy is survived by a son and a daughter.
