Ministry of Home Affairs initiates process to dispose of Crpf Dig accused of sexual harassment – Amar Ojala Hindi News Live Achi-News

The central government has started the process of dismissing a DIG rank officer of CRPF. The officer was accused of sexual harassment by several women CRPF personnel. On the recommendation of the Union’s Public Service Commission, the Ministry of the Interior began the process of firing the accused officer.

Allegations found to be true in the investigation

The Ministry of the Interior issued a notice to the accused officer and asked for an answer within 15 days. After receiving the answer, the Ministry of the Interior will issue the dismissal order. The officer against whom dismissal proceedings are underway is Deputy Inspector General of the CRPF Khajan Singh. He is currently posted in Mumbai. The internal committee of CRPF investigated against Khajan Singh and the allegations against the officer were found to be true in the investigation. The committee sent the inquiry report to the CRPF headquarters, from where it was sent to the Union Public Service Commission. Now the home ministry is acting on the recommendation of the UPSC.

The officer denied the allegations

There are two cases against the accused officer, in one of which the Ministry of the Interior issued a dismissal order. The investigation of the second case is still ongoing. Khajan Singh served as Chief Sports Officer in the CRPF. Khajan Singh was the silver medalist in the 200m breaststroke at the 1986 Asian Games held in Seoul. It was India’s first medal in swimming since 1951. Khajan Singh denied the allegations against him and claimed that these allegations were made to tarnish his image. There are currently 3.25 lakh personnel in the CRPF. For the first time in 1986, women were included in combat roles in the CRPF. It has six battalions of soldiers, in which about 8 thousand women are employed.
