Notices given to area party presidents, a reply is requested within 24 hours

On the instructions of District Electoral Officer Sakshi Sahni, seven notices were issued to political parties on Thursday for violating the election code of conduct in Ludhiana. Ludhiana News
Three notices were issued to the Aam Aadmi Party, and two notices each to the Congress and the BJP were issued by the District Returning Officer. According to the information, Assistant Returning Officer Ludhiana East, Additional Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, Chetan issued two notices to Aam Aadmi Party, while one notice each was given to Congress and BJP.
Chetan said that various flying squads have found unauthorized banners/posters belonging to their parties in areas falling under East Ludhiana assembly constituency. The name of the printer was not even written on these banners/posters. He said this was clearly against the guidelines of the PCC and the Election Commission of India. Chetan asked the parties to submit their replies within the stipulated time limit of 24 hours otherwise action would be taken. Notices have been served on the parties under Section 127(1), (2(A)(B) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951).
Similarly, ARO North-cum-EO Glada Ankur Mohindru issued one notice each to AAP, Indian National Congress and BJP for violation of MCC. Warnings were presented to the district presidents of the parties and they were asked to respond within 24 hours. Meanwhile, District Electoral Officer Sakshi Sahni said that the administration is committed to conduct free, fair, transparent and peaceful Lok Sabha elections in Ludhiana. Ludhiana News
