MUMBAI: Famous Bollywood actor Govind has re-entered politics after a long time. Govinda is known to have joined Shinde’s faction of Shiv Sena on Thursday. After meeting CM Eknath Shinde, there was much speculation about political entry. It is believed that Govinda will contest the Lok Sabha elections 2024. It is said that he might contest the election from North West Mumbai. Uddhav Thackeray of the INDIA faction has been announced as the candidate for this constituency, along with Amol Kirthikar of the Shiv Sena faction.

From Shiv Sena to Kana

On Wednesday, actor Govinda held a meeting with Shiv Sena spokesperson (Eknath Shinde’s faction) and former MLA Krishna Hegde. Since then rumors started in the political circle that Govind is going to return to politics again. Shinde officially joined Shiv Sena on Thursday.

Re-entering politics after 20 years?

Govind is no stranger to politics. Govinda made his debut in electoral politics in 2004. At that time, he had won on the Congress party ticket and entered parliament. He had won the election from North Mumbai in his first election 20 years ago. At that time he had defeated Ram Naik of the BJP. However, he later left politics citing personal reasons.

Govinda has worked in more than 165 Bollywood films in his career. In this Raja Babu, Coolie No.1, Hero No.1, Bade Mian Chhote Mian, Bhagambhag, Partner were given different identities. Govind has many fans for his amazing acting skills as well as his dancing skills.

Voting in five steps

Voting for 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra will be held in 5 phases. Voting will be held here in the first phase on April 19. The second phase of voting will be held on April 26. The third phase of voting will be held on May 7. The fourth phase of the elections will be held on May 13. The fifth and final phase of voting will be held on May 20. BJP, Shiv Sena (Shinde) and NCP (Ajith) have formed a grand alliance in Maharashtra. The Lok Sabha seat allocation formula in the state has also been decided under this alliance. Against this alliance, Sharad Pawar’s NCP faction, Shiv Sena’s Uddhav faction and Congress have joined the Maha Vikas Aghadi faction.
