The owner of Lanka Premier League team Dambulla Thunders has been arrested for match fixing.

British Bangladeshi citizen Tamim Rahman has been arrested by the Sri Lankan police.

Details of the charges against Tamim Rahman have not been released, the Lanka Premier League has canceled the Dambulla team ownership agreement following his arrest.

The management of the Lanka Premier League says that the contract needs to be terminated to protect the reputation of the league, if there is no new ownership then the affairs of the Dambulla team will be run by the management of the league.

It should be noted that Lanka Premier League players auction was held yesterday, Dambulla Thunders bought Iftikhar Ahmed and Hyder Ali from Pakistan in the players auction.
