Satheesan claims that the lieutenant governor met with the church leaders of the southern state to seek votes in favor of the BJP.
A deputy governor is accused of blatantly violating the code of conduct
Leader of the Opposition Satheesan, in a letter to the Election Commission, accused Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena of flagrant violation of the code of conduct by holding a meeting of church leaders in Kerala. He said in the complaint, “In writing this letter, I want to draw your attention to the fact that the Lt. Governor of Delhi has blatantly violated the model code of conduct. He is going to the heads of various churches in Kerala and luring them to take a stand in favor of the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.”
A request to meet the heads of these churches
Satheesan claimed that Saxena, who is on a two-day visit to Kerala, has sought a meeting with the heads of Malabar Syrian Church, Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church and others. He said that according to the information, some church leaders refused to meet the deputy governor.
