A visa-free policy has come into effect for Indian tourists planning to visit Iran. The Iranian Embassy in New Delhi informed this news in a statement issued on February 6. Visa-free entry facility for Indians for tourism purposes from February 4. Indian citizens who want to enter Iran without a visa will be allowed to stay for 15 days, said the Iranian embassy. The Iranian Embassy in New Delhi said in a statement that “ordinary passport holders will be allowed to enter their country without a visa once every 6 months. Maximum stay of 15 days.”

It is important to note in this respect that this 15 day period cannot be extended and that it only applies to tourists. The facility only applies to people entering Iranian territory “for tourism purposes,” the Iranian embassy said. This means that all Indians who need to visit Iran for business or educational purposes will have to apply for a visa under the appropriate category. That is, this facility will be given to tourists only. For such tourists, visa-free entry is granted once in 6 months. Indians planning to visit Iran more than once during this period will need to apply for a visa.
