Nirmala is a Rajya Sabha MP and BJP has given tickets to many Rajya Sabha MPs in this election, which includes Piyush Goyal, Bhupendra Yadav, Rajiv Chandrashekhar, Jyotiraditya Scindia.
She has also given the reason why Nirmala is not contesting the elections. She said, after thinking for a week or ten days, I just want to say this… probably not. I don’t have that much money to fight elections. I also have a problem whether in Andhra Pradesh or Tamil Nadu. The Finance Minister said, there will be a question of different criteria to win. Do you belong to this community or do you belong to that religion. Are you from here? I said no, I don’t think I can do that.
Nirmala Sitharaman further said that I am very grateful that my point has been accepted. When asked why the country’s Minister of Finance does not have money to contest elections. On this he said that the Mutual Fund of India is not his personal fund. My country, my earnings and my savings are my country. There is no consolidated fund of India.
