GUWAHATI: Preparations for the upcoming elections are in full swing as the Maniram Dewan Trade Center prepares to distribute Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) to the polling officers. Joint Commissioner of Police Thube Prateek Vijay Kumar briefed the assembled officers from both the police and election officials about the proceedings.

A total of 393 vehicles were mobilized for the mission, which ensures smooth logistics for the distribution process. Among these vehicles are 105 buses, 95 large passenger buses, 128 small passenger buses and 65 Tata Somos, along with 40 shuttle services that transport cars from Maniram Dewan to ISBT.
In addition, 20 e-rickshaws have been allocated to carry EVM vehicles from the ISBT main gate to the designated parking area.
In this effort, 20 buses have been earmarked to pick up polling staff from various locations across Guwahati, and streamline their transportation to the trade hub.
With the engagement of almost 150 officials, including police and election staff, the operation is expected to be conducted efficiently.
The distribution of EVMs marks a crucial step in the election process, ensuring that the polling stations are equipped for the upcoming elections, so that citizens have a smooth voting experience.
