Brij Bhushan has claimed in court that he was not in Delhi at the time of the incident.
Kaiserganj MP from Uttar Pradesh and former WFI (Wrestlers Federation of India) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh arrived at Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi on Thursday (April 18). The court was about to announce its verdict framing charges against Braj Bhushan in the sexual harassment case.
However, Brij Bhushan claims that he was not in Delhi at the time of the incident on 7 September 2022. So these claims should be investigated. He has also asked for a copy of the CDR. After the arguments, the court has reserved the decision until April 26.
The Delhi police had filed a chargesheet against Braj Bhushan in this case in June 2023. Charges were filed against him under sections 354, 354-A, 354-D and 506.
On this issue, for the first time on January 18, 2023, more than 30 wrestlers including wrestler Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, Vinesh Phogat had protested at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.
Brij Bhushan’s ticket is not finalized yet, fear of being cut
Brijbhushan Sharan Singh has been a continuous MP since 2009 from Kaiserganj seat in Uttar Pradesh. When he was President of the Wrestling Federation, he has been accused of sexually exploiting female wrestlers. The Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi said on 18 April that the verdict would be announced on 26 April.
The voting for the Kaiserganj Lok Sabha seat is to be held in the fifth phase ie on May 20. The nomination will start here from 26 April. May 3 is the last date for nominations. The scrutiny is on May 4 and the last date for withdrawal of nomination is May 6. Tarabganj BJP MLA Premanarayan Pandey and Colonelganj MLA Ajay Singh are strong contenders from the Kaiseranganj seat. The party can give consent in the name of either of them.
Delhi police had registered an FIR on the orders of the court.
The wrestlers ended their protest after the intervention of the Sports Ministry. An investigation committee was also formed in the case. However, the issue gained momentum after the wrestlers started protesting once again in April 2023. The wrestler had reached the court to lodge an FIR in the case. Delhi police had registered the FIR only on the orders of the court.

Brajbhushan Sharan Singh has been an MP in the Kaiserganj Lok Sabha seat for 15 years. He has been MP 6 times from Gonda, Balrampur, Kaiserganj. According to the election affidavit, Brij Bhushan Singh has movable and immovable assets worth around Rs 10 crore. His wife has assets worth around Rs 6 crore. He has many cars like Scorpio, Ford and Fortuner.
Apart from the government data, Brij Bhushan Singh owns more than 50 schools and colleges in the district. They also do contractual work in different sectors. They are also famous for helicopter and horse riding.
Brajbhushan is also famous for controversies
At the Under-15 National Wrestling Championship in Ranchi, Wrestling Federation President Brij Bhushan slapped a wrestler on stage himself. Actually, that wrestler was older. He wanted to participate in the competition in the name of Brijbhushan college. Brijbhushan was sitting there and he left his hand on the wrestler.

Case against Brijbhushan for violating the code of conduct
