New Delhi: After being reprimanded by the Supreme Court in the Misleading Advertisements case, Patanjali has once again published a new advertisement in the daily. Yoga guru Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balakrishna, co-founders of Patanjali Ayurveda (Patanjali Case) issued a new public apology in the press today, Wednesday.

Yesterday, during the hearing of the same contempt of court case, the Supreme Court took Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balakrishna to task and asked, Is your apology as big as you advertised it? That was asked fiercely. Patanjali was hit by the Supreme Court after noticing that he had submitted a brief apology in the press in connection with the contempt of court case.

In the name of Baba Ramdev, Patanjali and Acharya Balakrishna, an advertisement was placed in the newspaper saying ‘In view of the proceedings pending in the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, we tender our unconditional apology on behalf of the Company for disobeying the directions/orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court in our individual capacity’. The Supreme Court was angered by the brief apology. Patanjali has apologized for this background.

What is Patanjali’s New Apology?

The Patanjali organization has once again issued a massive apology in the press under the name ‘Unconditional Public Apology’. It read, ‘We personally and on behalf of the company express our unconditional apology for not complying with, or not complying with, the directions/orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court in the case pending before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. ‘

Also, we apologize for arranging the meeting/press conference on 22.11.2023. We sincerely apologize for the mistake made in publishing our advertisements and express our full commitment that such mistakes will not be repeated. We are bound to follow the instructions of the Hon’ble Court with utmost care and devotion. We are committed to maintaining respect for the dignity of the court. and must abide by the applicable laws and instructions of the competent court/authorities concerned.

What did the Supreme Court say at the hearing on Tuesday?

Yesterday, Tuesday, during the hearing of the case in the Supreme Court, yoga guru Patanjali Ayurveda Limited, Baba Ramdev and his associate Balakrishna, told a bench comprising Justices Hima Kohli and Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah that they had banned misleading advertisements unconditionally.

Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balakrishna published a public apology on behalf of the Patanjali Foundation in 67 newspapers. But since the first ad was short, they released additional ads apologizing unconditionally for their mistakes. The Constitution Bench had said yesterday that the public apology published in the newspapers had not been recorded and should be submitted within two days. Also, the next hearing of this case is scheduled for April 30.
