The National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) has suspended wrestler Bajrang Punia for an indefinite period. Bajrang Punia did not give his sample for dope test, after which NADA has taken this step. On this Bajrang said that he has not refused to give the sample.
At the same time, wrestler Vinesh Phogat has also come out in favor of Bajrang Punia and in protest against the action of the agency. He wrote on X that truth can be troubling but not overwhelming. Because Bajrang revealed the sample controversy by sharing a video.
Bajrang was given time till May 7th
In fact, during the National Trials for Asian Qualifiers held on March 10 to participate in the Olympics, NADA had asked Bajrang to give his sample. But, Bajrang refused to give the sample. NADA had to tell the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) why an athlete did not submit his sample. On April 23, NADA issued a notice to Bajrang and asked him to respond by May 7. Bajrang has yet to respond and thus has been suspended.
