GUWAHATI: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21, sent a message from jail saying he was not surprised by the arrest.

The Delhi CM sent a message to his wife Sunita Kejriwal, who shared it on his official X handle and said, “Your son and brother Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has sent a message from jail.”

“‘Dear countrymen, I have been arrested. Whether I am in prison or not, I will continue to serve the country. My whole life is dedicated to the country. I have struggled a lot in my life, and I know it will continue. That is why this arrest did not surprise me,'” she says, reading the message.

"I also appeal to all Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers that work for social welfare and public welfare should not stop when I go to jail. Don’t hate BJP people for this. They are our brothers and sisters. I will be back soon,” the message said.

"There are several forces inside and outside India that are weakening the country. We must be vigilant, identify these forces and defeat them. Women in Delhi must think that Kejriwal is behind bars. Who knows if they will get 1000 rupees. I appeal to them to trust their brother, their son. There is no prison that can keep him behind bars for long. I will come out soon and fulfill my promise," Sunita further stated and read out the message of the Delhi CM.

Yesterday, a Delhi court remanded Arvind Kejriwal to the custody of the Enforcement Directorate till March 28, following his arrest in a money laundering case on charges of money laundering in the Delhi liquor policy case. He is scheduled to appear in court again on March 28 at 2 p.m., according to reports.
