Divyanshu Singh alleged that teachers Vinay Verma and Ashish Gupta had accepted bribes to pass students. He had filed a formal complaint through an affidavit with evidence to the governor.

The evidence pointed to anomalies in the examination process and students who wrote the names ‘Jai Sri Ram’ and cricketers like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya in their answer papers were inexplicably passed with more than 50% marks combined with the degree.

In response, the university administration formed an inquiry committee and conducted an external evaluation of the answer sheets, which revealed discrepancies where 0 was awarded and 4 marks for students respectively.
