Federal Minister of Finance, Muhammad Aurangzeb, headed the statement regarding the meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee.

The announcement stated that various proposals from different ministries and departments were reviewed and approved. A summary of raising the wheat procurement target for Pasco was approved. The wheat procurement target will be increased from 14 lakh to 18 metric tons.

According to the ECC announcement, the cash credit required for additional purchase was also approved, in summary to meet the requirements of urea fertilizer in acute cultivation.

The statement said to import 2 lakh tonnes of urea fertilizer for the hot season, and the ministry was directed to continuously review the demand and supply situation of urea. A summary of funds for the payment of salaries for steel mill workers was approved.

According to the statement, a detailed plan with timetables for the future of the steel plant was also requested. A budgetary expenditure related to the delay in the power tariff differential subsidy will be allowed. 70 billion rupees will be paid to K Electric from the money.

The finance ministry statement said that Rs 55 billion will be allocated for Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the approval of which will help in reducing the liquidity requirements of the power sector. A special aid package will be considered for the daily wage workers at the Chaman border.

At the meeting, the summary of the provision of funds to BISP from its budget was reviewed. A supplementary technical grant of R4.8 billion was approved for the Atomic Energy Commission, while R5.8 billion was approved for payment of IRA arrears.

According to the announcement, Rs 3.2 billion have been approved for financial inclusion and infrastructure project, Rs 162 million for maintenance and repair of government buildings in Islamabad and Rs 2.2 billion have also been approved for release to the Ministry of Interior for FATA projects.
