SRINAGAR: Sometimes I feel that the Congress has associated itself with the BJP as no steps have been taken to strengthen the party, said Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) president Ghulam Nabi Azad. A senior leader who left the Congress has formed the DPAP party. He said the Congress move has been criticized and sometimes there is doubt whether the Congress had formed an alliance with the BJP.
Earlier, 23 leaders were struggling to change the system in the Congress, but the leadership did not listen to anything. Ghulam Nabi Azad said that sometimes I feel that they (Congress) want the BJP to win.
An election should not be held on religion
Addressing a public meeting in Doda, he said that poverty, unemployment and control over inflation are the country’s main issues. He said whichever party comes to power, they have to solve these big problems. He appealed to the voters that the election should be held on development and not on religion.
Political parties have ruined Kashmir
Azad criticized all political parties, including the separatists, for ruining Kashmir. One lakh people died in Jammu and Kashmir because of politicians. He claimed that all the leaders had left the valley and settled outside after setting fire in Kashmir.

The first phase of the elections will begin on April 19 and the final phase 7 voting will be held on June 1. The election results will be out on June 4. Voting for 102 constituencies in the first phase will be held on April 19. on April 26 for 89 constituencies in the second phase, 94 constituencies in the third phase, 96 in the fourth phase, 49 in the fifth phase, 57 in the sixth phase and 57 in the seventh phase.
