Bhaskar Chakai News The Lok Sabha elections were held peacefully in the block on Friday amid tight security arrangements. Voting began at seven in the morning but before that voters had already started lining up to vote. Where the polls stabilized and began voting during this period, the most enthusiasm for voting was seen among young first-time voters. They took it as a celebration and shared it with each other. On this occasion, a large crowd of women was observed in all the division’s polling stations. By 10:00 the vote had crossed 30 percent. A small number of voters were observed at the polling stations between 10:00 and 14:00. Voting rose again after 2 o’clock and continued until 4 o’clock in the evening. Block Election Officer-cum-Block Development Officer Durga Shankar Prasad continued to take every minute information about the elections from the control room located at the block headquarters. Due to this scorching heat, there was a huge drop in voter turnout. 50 percent polling was conducted in Chakai during that election, the health condition of Prabhat Kumar Pal, the presiding officer of Bagha booth number 291, deteriorated due to which he was rushed to the Chakai Referral Hospital for treatment.
