NIT Srinagar mourns loss of MED student in road accident – The Kashmir Monitor Achi-News

SRINAGAR: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar on Thursday condoled the sudden demise of Vipul Tyagi, a student of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, in a tragic road accident on a rainy day.

Hailing from Uttar Pradesh, Vipul, a 4th Semester student of 2022 batch (BMECH115), met with an accident near Foreshore Road on 28 March. The deceased fought for his life at SKIMS Soura for many days but unfortunately lost his battle on Wednesday.

The entire community of NIT Srinagar including teaching, non-teaching staff, students and scholars, led by Director Prof. A. Ravinder Nath, gathered at Fountain Park for a condolence meeting. There was two minutes of silence, and prayers were offered for the departed soul.

Describing Vipul Tyagi’s death as untimely and sad, the Director expressed his deep grief and prayed for peace and mercy to the departed soul. He offered his deepest condolences to the grieving family, praying that they find the strength and tolerance to cope with the loss.

In his message, the Registrar of the Institute, Professor Aatikur Rehman, expressed deep sorrow and offered sincere condolences to the family and friends of the late Vipul Tyagi. The Head of MED, Professor Adnan Qayaom, expressed his condolences and condolences to the bereaved family.

Meanwhile, NIT Srinagar has advised its students to avoid non-essential travel, trekking, or visits to hill stations or water bodies during holidays until further notice. “The safety and well-being of our students is paramount to us. Given the current climate uncertainty, including heavy rain, landslides, and the possibility of road closures, it is imperative that you exercise caution and prioritize your safety above all else.”
