Kolkata: An incident of stone pelting came to light during the Ram Naami procession in Murshidabad, West Bengal. In fact, clashes and violence were claimed during the Ram Naami procession on Wednesday evening in the Shaktipur area of Rajanagar in Murshidabad district, where several people were reportedly injured. It is claimed that when the Ram Navami procession was taken out, stones were thrown in the area and people were seen throwing stones from the roofs. The situation reached such a stage that the police had to resort to prosecution. The BJP claims that Hindu devotees were targeted in Rajanagar.

According to news agency PTI, an explosion took place in Shaktipur in Murshidabad district on Wednesday evening during the Ram Nami procession, in which a woman was injured. Police said the injured woman was taken to Murshidabad Medical College and Hospital. A police officer said the blast happened on Wednesday evening. A woman was injured in it. We are investigating the incident. However, the official did not clarify whether the explosion was caused by a bomb or some other reason.
It was further reported that the incident took place in the Shaktipur area on Wednesday evening, when a group led a procession on the occasion of Ram Nami. Many videos are going viral on social media, showing people in this area throwing stones at the procession from their rooftops. To disperse the crowd, the police had to use tear gas and tear gas shells. The police also stated that the situation was under control and additional forces were sent to the area.

At the same time, BJP leader Amit Malviya tweeted and alleged that Hindu devotees were targeted during the Ram Navami festival in Murshidabad’s Rejinagar. Amit Malviya said, ‘Mamata Banerjee is a disgrace to West Bengal. She again failed to protect the Ram Nami procession. Hindu devotees were targeted in Rajanagar in Murshidabad. Hindus are a minority in this region. Just pointing this out, so that she (Mamata) doesn’t blame the Hindus for attacking her.
Amit Malviya said in another post, “Mamata Banerjee’s provocative communal speeches are responsible for the attack on Ram Nami Shubha Yatra in Jinagar, Murshidabad. The Election Commission should take note of the Bengali Chief Minister’s irresponsible statements which lead to targeted violence against Hindus.”
He shared another video and said, ‘Bengal is destroyed and Mamata Banerjee is responsible for it. His dignified and communal speeches led to attacks on Ram devotees throughout Bengal. After massive riots in Murshidabad, now the followers of Shri Ram have been targeted in Agra, from Dinipur. BJP workers will now surround Agra Police Station in protest against the brutal attack on Ram Nami Shubha Yatra. The Chief Minister of Bengal should be held responsible for not protecting Bengali Hindus.
