Russia sees the US focus on Daesh/ISIS responsible for last week’s attack on the Crocus City Hall concert venue in the Moscow region as an attempt to divert attention from something else, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday .
Speaking in an interview with the Russian daily Izvestia, Peskov said that it looks strange that Washington is taking the liberty of talking about the only version of what happened.
“This, of course, shows that they want to divert attention from something else,” he stressed.
He urged everyone to be patient and wait for the official results of the investigation, noting that no one has so far presented official versions.
“The special services are working to supplement the existing versions and focus on a logical one (one),” he said.
At least 140 people were killed and more than 360 injured on March 22 when gunmen opened fire at the Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Oblast.
The Investigative Committee said it had detained 11 people, including four perpetrators, in the Bryansk border region, who were on their way to Ukraine.
Moscow’s Basmanny District Court late on Sunday charged the four perpetrators with terrorism and approved their pre-trial detention until May 22.
