After a particularly hot April day on Tuesday, temperatures are expected to drop on Wednesday.

A sharp cold front sweeping through Quebec should drop temperatures quickly during the day, with some areas possibly seeing rain change to sleet.

Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued flash freeze warnings east of Quebec City, including the Charlevoix region.

Temperatures are expected to drop by 10 degrees, which will cause puddles to freeze.

Surfaces such as highways and sidewalks can become icy and slippery.

A blowing snow advisory is in place for parts of the Gaspe Peninsula, where heavy snow and strong winds may combine and reduce road visibility.

Accumulations are expected in the eastern parts of the district.

In Montreal, winds may shift to the north, increasing to 30 to 50 km/h.

The temperature is expected to drop by over 20 degrees from Tuesday afternoon.

The temperature is set to drop to 2C on Wednesday night, from Tuesday’s high of 19.5C.

The usual daytime high on April 24 in Montreal is 13 C, while the low is 3 C.

The sun is expected to return on Wednesday afternoon.

Temperatures should warm back to seasonable by Friday, with milder air expected for the weekend.
