For the first time, Suryatilaka will be adorned on Balarama’s forehead, and a unique scientific technique has been adopted for this. Even every year this arrangement is done to give the color of Surya Tilak.
The project has been developed by a company called Optica in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore.
The machine was developed in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Astrophysics and the Central Building Research Institute (CBRI).
The idol is not warmed by Surya Tilak
For a few minutes, the sun’s rays will fall on Rama’s forehead like a tilak, and these rays will not warm the idol. Said to withstand heat.
An optomechanical system installed to facilitate tilak includes an infrared filter. It features a unique design using precision lenses and mirrors.
These elements use natural sunlight to form a Suryatilaka on Balarama’s forehead as a divine symbol and this unique scientific technology keeps the idol from overheating.
Optica, the company responsible for the technology, said that Surya Tilak does not generate any extra heat on Rama Navami.
Install an infrared filter
A team of scientists from the Central Building Research Institute in Roorkee installed an infrared filter on the first floor, aware of the intense heat produced by focusing the sun’s rays through lens instruments and mirrors in one place.
This prevents excessive heat generation. Through this the sunlight will enter the ‘garbhagriha’ and the sun’s rays will shine on Rama’s body.
Duration of Suryatilaka ceremony
The muhurta to celebrate Rama Lalla’s birthday is scheduled for 12.40 pm on April 17, the ‘Suryatilaka’ will start at 11.58 am and is expected to last till 12.03 pm.
On Monday, experiments were conducted at the Ram Mandir. The Prasar Bharati program will be telecasted live for the devotees of Ram and they can watch the program at home.
Where can you watch the live broadcast?
Now if you cannot reach Ayodhya on Ram Navami, you can sit at home and watch this Surya Abhishek programme. It is said that the entire program will be broadcast live on television. Also, preparations are underway to install large LED screens in many cities including Ayodhya. It is said that more than four lakh people may reach Ayodhya this time. The darshan timings of the temple have also been changed due to Ram Navami.
