This time in Gwalior-Chambal, there is more discussion about three young engineering candidates than the BJP and the Congress. All three are around 32 years old. All three have studied engineering. Two of them have left their jobs and come to contest elections on a package of lakhs of rupees. Whereas, after studying law, one has chosen the path of politics instead of becoming an advocate or a judge.

BSP candidate from Bhind, Ashish Jararia, has BE and Law degrees. Archana Rajput, who is contesting as an independent candidate from Gwalior, has entered politics after getting a job in Delhi with a package of lakhs of rupees after engineering. Suraj Kushwaha, who contested as an independent candidate from Morena, was also doing engineering and was working in a private company on a salary of lakhs.

Bhind: Because of Jarraria, the competition is triangular

This time there are 7 candidates in the fray in Bhind Lok Sabha. The main contest between Sandhya Rai of the BJP and Phool Singh Baraiya of the Congress has been made triangular by Devashish of the BSP. Jararia was the Congress candidate for this Lok Sabha last time. Then she had to face defeat from Sandhya Rai.

Hurt by being denied a ticket and not getting any attention in the organization, Jararia resigned and joined BSP. Now he is in the fray as a BSP candidate. Bhind is a safe seat. Congress is facing an immediate loss because of Jararia’s record.

Access to MP politics through UP

Devashish Jararia’s father, who lives behind Harsh Bihar Trimurti Nagar Fair Ground in Bhind city, is a teacher at Murar College for Women. Devashish is his only son. The younger sister is married When asked why she joined politics instead of a job after engineering and law, Jararia says – “I am from the Scheduled Caste category. Father is a teacher. Because of this, my studies also improved from the beginning.

After engineering, he went to Delhi University to study law. I was active on social media. He would often raise his voice for the rights of people from this class. The UP assembly elections were in 2017. Then BSP was seen active on social media for the first time. BSP Twitter (now X) was seen trending for the first time.

He joined the Congress in 2018 as the distance from BSP increased.

Jararia says I got recognition because of BSP’s social media campaign. After this the party made me spokesperson. But, due to some problems, my distance from BSP increased in 2018 and I separated from the party.

They say my identity is established by then. My fan base had increased among the youth. At the same time, a Congress MP contacted me and made me a candidate for the first time in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Bhind. I was 27 at the time. This was my first election. No one in my family has ever been in politics. No one had ever contested any election. Despite this, I took up the BJP.

Jararia had sent his resignation to Congress National President Kharge on April 17.

Jararia said – Congress is not giving importance to the underprivileged class.

Jararia said – After losing the Lok Sabha elections, he remained active in the district for the entire five years. Senior Congress Party leaders had said that you have to contest only for Lok Sabha. This is the reason why I did not ask for a ticket from anywhere in the assembly. Then suddenly my ticket was cancelled.

Then I spoke to BSP supremo Mayawati ji’s sister. He said that there is no place for Dalits and the underprivileged in the Congress and the BJP. The real house is BSP. Come to the party, I will fight the elections.

Gwalior: Archana Singh Rajput is contesting elections after leaving the package of a famous company.

There are 19 candidates in the fray from the Gwalior Lok Sabha seat. The main contest is between Bharat Singh Kushwaha of BJP and Praveen Pathak of Congress. For the first time, BJP has fielded a face associated with a rural area as its candidate. While the Congress, on the contrary, has given a candidate from the city.

Apart from these two, Archana Singh Rajput is also contesting elections from here. She is the youngest among all the candidates. BJP suffers the biggest loss due to Archana’s record. Archana gets support from the Rajput community as well as people from other communities.

Archana said – I like doing social service since childhood.

The parents of Archana Singh, resident of Narhi village, Karaira, Shivpuri, have died. Archana is fourth among 6 sisters. The youngest brother also works in an international company after engineering. Archana was also an engineer in a famous company. There was an annual package of lakhs.

On the reason for leaving his job and joining politics, he says – “My father Parmal Singh Rathore was a farmer. People throughout Karaira still respect him. My father raised me as a son. My elder sisters are married. But, I like doing social service since childhood. Along with my job in Delhi, I also used to help sick people.

The Modi team contacted, having secured a ticket from Gwalior

Archana says I am also associated with Central Vista Project. Perhaps seeing my social concern and activism, Modi ji’s team contacted me in March 2024. Several rounds of interviews were conducted. Then I was assured that you will be contested from the Gwalior Lok Sabha seat.

The party was looking for a young face here. I was also assured of preference because I was a woman. As per the instructions of that team, I also met BJP State President VD Sharma, Hitanand, Mahendra Singh Solanki, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, BL Santosh, National President JP Nadda. But I didn’t get the ticket.

The party made Bharat Singh Kushwaha a candidate from here. After this I decided that I would contest the elections as an independent candidate. Earlier in 2015, I had contested Sarpanch elections. Even though I lost that election. Now I get support from all departments including the Baghel community.

Suraj left his job in an IT company and contested elections from Morena.

There are 15 candidates in the fray from the Morena Lok Sabha seat. The main contest is between Neetu alias Satyapal Sikarwar of Congress and Shivmangal Singh of BJP. BSP’s Ramesh Garg is trying to make the contest triangular. But the young independent candidate who is being discussed is Suraj Kushwaha. A team of youth is active with him.

Suraj Kushwaha, a resident of Jorgarhi Anghora Tetra, is married. He left his job in an IT company in Delhi and entered politics. This is his first election. No one in the family has ever fought in any election.

Suraj said – youth is being ignored

On the question of leaving the package of lakhs and joining politics, Suraj says – “Youth is ignored in every election. No leader can provide a means of employment. These leaders do not have the knowledge about how the work should be done.

They say take my Morena Lok Sabha, Kuno Sanctuary is here. It can be made into a tourist spot. This area does not even have basic facilities like education and roads. Member MPs are elected every time, but they do nothing for the people.

Publicity through street meetings and social media

This time, the three parties BJP, Congress and BSP did not give tickets to OBC or ST category people. This is the reason why I have joined the field as an independent candidate. I campaign through street meetings. Go door to door. I get my message across to people through social media.
