Islamabad (A.30): In the midst of Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi revealed the untold story of the Balakot airstrike. Prime Minister Modi said how he ensured that Pakistan was the first to be officially informed about the 2019 Balakot airstrikes.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who said that he does not believe in attacking from behind but believes in open and direct fighting, did not hide the information of the Balakot airstrike from anyone and informed the country about the damage inflicted on the enemy after the attack.

Addressing a rally in Karnataka’s Bagalkot, Prime Minister Modi said, ‘I had asked the security forces to call the media and inform them about this. I told Pakistan that I would inform Pakistan about the Balakot airstrike and the destruction it caused over the phone in the evening. But the people of Pakistan did not pick up the phone. So I asked the security forces to wait and only after informing them did we reveal to the world about the night air strike.

Prime Minister Modi disclosed this at a rally held in Navnagar, Bagalkot, North Karnataka. PM Modi said he did not pick up the phone when he called the neighboring country. Addressing the rally, PM Modi said, ‘I have instructed the security forces not to disclose this matter to anyone until I manage to contact them (Pakistan). So Modi does not hide anything and whatever he does, he does openly.

It is worth noting that India responded to the Pulwama terror attack in 2019 by carrying out the Balakot air strike. In response to the Pulwama terrorist attack, Indian warplanes attacked Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist camps in Balakot, Pakistan on February 26, 2019, destroying the camp by aerial bombing and killing many terrorists. Earlier, 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans were martyred in the Pulwama attack on February 14.
