The Supreme Court, while dismissing a petition, said that there would be chaos if the Supreme Court started hearing petitions against the rejection of nomination papers in elections. In fact, Jawahar Kumar Jha of Bihar wanted to contest the elections from the Bakan parliamentary constituency. He also filed as an independent candidate but his nomination was rejected. He filed a petition against this to the Supreme Court.

The rules of the Election Commission must be followed

According to media reports, a bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice JB Pardiwala, while hearing the case, said there will be chaos if we start considering petitions under Article 32 of the Constitution against rejection of nomination papers. However, he allowed his advocate Alakh Alok Srivastava to find suitable legal remedies. During the hearing, the CJI said that even if we issue a notice and hear the case, it will go beyond elections. The rules of the Election Commission must be followed. Therefore, we are not ready to hear this petition.

First phase of voting in Bihar today

According to the data of the election commission, a total of 48.23 percent of voting took place until 18:00. The highest percentage of voting was registered in Gaya at 52%, in Jamui and Aurangabad at 50-50%. The lowest turnout was in Nevada at 41 percent. This time the voter turnout dropped unchanged. Not even half of the voters voted. In the 2019 elections, a total of 53.47 percent voting took place on these four Lok Sabha seats. Enthusiasm among the voters even at a temperature of 41 degrees

Much enthusiasm is evident among the voters regarding the Lok Sabha elections in Jamui. Even in 41 degree temperatures, people need to get to the polling booth and exercise their franchise. However, due to strong sunlight and a westerly wind blowing at a speed of 32 kilometers per hour, the pace of voting slowed slightly from 12:00 to 14:00. Despite this, according to district administration data, 31.42 percent of votes were received in Sikandra assembly, 33.71 percent in Jamui assembly, 38.97 percent in Jaja assembly and 35.53 percent in Chakai assembly.
