There is a different atmosphere across the country regarding the Lok Sabha elections. Political parties leave no opportunity to attack each other. At the same time, the election committee also takes a rigid position. Meanwhile, the political turmoil continues in the Baramati Lok Sabha seat. The Electoral Officer here said in his report that in the initial investigation, there is no evidence of violation of the model code of conduct through the comments made by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in seeking votes from the fund.

The Sharad Pawar camp filed a complaint

Shradchandra Pawar-led NCPSP filed a complaint against Ajit Pawar in the Election Commission alleging violation of the Model Code of Conduct and the Representation of the People Act.

Ajit Pawar said this

In fact, at an election rally in Indapur in the Barmati constituency, Ajit Pawar recently said, ‘As far as funds are concerned, we will cooperate to give you as much as you want. But for that it will be necessary to press the EVM button in large numbers. If the EVM button is pressed more and more then I will also want to allocate money, otherwise I will have to hold back.

Power owns the state’s finance department. His words were criticized by the opposition. Sharadwali NCPSP filed a complaint with the Election Commission demanding action against Ajit Pawar.

The officer told the truth

Baramati Returning Officer Kavita Dwivedi said she started an inquiry after receiving the complaint and sought answers from Ajit Pawar. He has now submitted a report in this regard to the Chief Electoral Officer. In doing so, the officer said he had seen the video of Ajit Pawar’s speech and there was no violation of the code of conduct.

He said, ‘No votes were sought for any single candidate in the video. He is heard asking them to press the buttons on ‘our’ machine so they can allocate money. Here the word machine is universal and he is not talking about any particular candidate or his candidate or party.

Pune District Magistrate Suhas Diwasa said the Baramati returning officer had said in his report that there was no violation of the model code of conduct in this case. He said the report was submitted to the Chief Electoral Officer two days ago.

Sister-in-law and sister-in-law face to face

The political contest between brother-in-law and sister-in-law in Maharashtra’s Baramati seat has become interesting. Here Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-Ajit Pawar Camp) has made Sunetra Pawar its candidate for Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Sunetra is the wife of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Her sister-in-law Supriya Sola is running against Sontra. Supriya is the daughter of Sharad Pawar. The current MP from Baramati Lok Sabha constituency is Supriya Sule of NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar). In 2019, Supriya defeated BJP’s Kanchan Rahul Kaul. Sola has represented the Baramati Lok Sabha seat three times so far. Voting will take place in the third stage of the general elections in Baramati on May 7.
