Water system to suit short trips

By providing 500 ml water bottles to passengers, the Railway Department aims to provide enough water bottles for long journeys of Rajdhani trains and short journeys of Vande Bharat trains.

This will prevent wastage of water, make better use of the limited amount of one liter water bottle and provide suitable water bottle systems for passengers for long journeys and short journeys, the department said.

In addition, the installation of rainwater harvesting units at 158 locations and the installation of three automatic coach washing stations further contributed to water conservation efforts. Further, the Central Railway has undertaken extensive afforestation projects, planting five lakh trees at various locations to restore and maintain the local ecosystem.
