In an interview, Padmarajan said, "It doesn’t matter who my opponents are. My main goal is simply to run in the elections. Winning or losing depends on the voters. Before every election, I do my research and think about who the VIPs are that I can face.’

In the following years he put himself in front of agents including Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Manmohan Singh, PV Narasimha Rao, Pranab Mukherjee, Pratibha Patil, KR Narayanan and APJ Abdul Kalam.

He also faced Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi, Jayalalithaa, M Karunanidhi, AK Antony, SM Krishna, and Jagdish Shettar.

According to reports, his name was also added to the Book Records of India and the Limca Book of Records for being the most unsuccessful candidate.
