The trend of doing an MBA in various fields has risen in order to get a job or to get a promotion. Taking advantage of this need of the youth, many educational institutions also offer MBA courses, which do not even have basic facilities and properly trained staff. Such institutions also promise to give such degrees to students through online medium without taking classes. Many such educational institutions claim to conduct an MBA course in six months or even ten days. In return, they also charge huge fees from the students.
But UGC warned the students against falling prey to such educational institutions and said that the students should not take admission in any such institution. UGC has also asked such institutions to get necessary permission from AICTE before imparting MBA education. According to the information, AICTE is yet to give necessary permission to such institution to conduct MBA immediately.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has made it clear that even to offer online degrees, the institutions need to get proper approval. Without it, no institute can give a higher education degree like MBA. According to the rules, educational institutions offering online classes also have to meet some basic requirements. Students must make appropriate arrangements for appropriate learning material and tests. All these rules are mentioned in the required authorization, which the institutions must fulfill.
UGC has published the list
To save the students from the trap of fake institutions, UGC has also released a list. It includes the names of only those institutions that received the required permission to provide higher education. Before admission to any institution, students should check its credibility in this list. This list can also be checked on the UGC website (www.deb.ugc.ac.in).
