Man charged for ‘assault’ by Edinburgh parking warden Achi-News

The alleged incident happened on Gorgie Road at around 4.25pm ​​on Monday.

Eamonn Gallagher, 38, from West Lothian, appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm and endangering life.

He was also charged with threatening or abusive behavior and possessing a blade in public.

He did not plead during the private hearing and was remanded in custody.

The company that provides parking wardens to Edinburgh Council, NSL, said the 49-year-old man who was injured was one of their employees.

A spokesperson for the NSL said: “We can confirm that one of our colleagues has been the victim of a serious assault whilst carrying out his duties as a parking assistant on behalf of Edinburgh City Council.

“Due to the ongoing police investigation, we are unable to provide any further details at this time.”
