A political uproar has erupted in Kerala after LDF member PV Anwar’s controversial statement on Rahul Gandhi. Describing Rahul as a low-level citizen, Anwar demanded that he take a ‘DNA test’. Amid the growing controversy, a case was registered against the MLA.

Rahul does not deserve to be called by the surname Gandhi

Anwar, an independent MLA from the Nilambur assembly seat, while addressing an election rally in Kerala’s Palakkad district on April 22, said: ‘I am a part of Wayanad, which is Rahul Gandhi’s area. I can’t call his last name Gandhi. He has become such a lowly citizen that he does not deserve to be called by the surname Gandhi. I’m not saying that. The residents of the country have been saying this for the past two days.

According to the FIR, on Friday a case was registered against the LDF MLA at the Nathukal Police Station by order of the Magistrate’s Court. A case was registered against Anwar under Section 153A of the IPC and Section 125 of the Representation of the People Act. The Magistrate’s Court made this decision on the complaint of the lawyer Baig and Noel Rosario.

Rahul reacted against Vijayan

In fact, Anwar was angry because of Rahul Gandhi’s remarks against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Rahul raised the issue in the recent rallies in Kerala, why the central investigating agencies did not investigate Vijayan and why he was not arrested despite several allegations of corruption. At the same time, Vijayan justified Anwar’s comment by saying that the Congress leader is not a man beyond criticism.
