North East Frontier Railway continued steady growth in freight unloading in April, 2024. The North East Frontier Railway has been recording steady growth in freight unloading. 1130 cargo racks unloaded by North East Frontier Railway in April. FCI North East Frontier Railway transported goods like rice, sugar, salt, edible oil, fertiliser, cement, coal, vegetables, cars, tanks and other goods during the respective months and unloaded them at various goods sheds under its jurisdiction. In April, 2024, 540 rakes were unloaded from goods trains in Assam, and 335 racks were loaded with essential goods.

In the corresponding month, 25 rakes were unloaded in Tripura, 18 rakes in Nagaland, 9 rakes in Arunachal Pradesh, 3 rakes in Manipur and 5 rakes in Mizoram. Also, 76 racks of goods were unloaded in West Bengal and 69 racks of goods were unloaded in Bihar within the jurisdiction of the North East Frontier Railway during the respective months not only to meet the essential needs of the common man, but also to stimulate and increase activity local economic of the region, daily necessities and other goods are transported regularly.
The introduction of better terminal handling facilities and more product sheds has made the unloading process more convenient for customers and other stakeholders to unload and empty rakes in within a limited period of time. Continuous monitoring at all levels has resulted in reduction in turnaround time and increase in unloading efficiency is now given utmost importance in Indian Railways. Products are constantly being sent from different parts Especially in the post-Covid situation as various business organizations have started emphasizing on the railways. There are several places in North East India where timely transportation of goods by road is quite costly. The railway facilitates there.
