Italy, Indonesia praise India’s G20 presidency for putting Africa, Global South on global agenda – Amar Ojala Hindi News Live Achi-News

G20: The ambassadors of Italy and Indonesia have praised India’s G20 presidency for bringing Africa and the ‘Global South’ to the center of the international agenda. He called it a historic initiative.

Six months after India handed over the G20 presidency to Brazil, the ambassadors of Italy and Indonesia praised the steps taken at the New Delhi summit to bring Africa and the ‘Global South’ to the center of the international agenda. Italian Ambassador to India Vincenzo De Luca said that India’s successful chairmanship proved that the role of the G20 should be preserved as it was under threat. He said that after the G20, India, the global South and Africa were at the center of the forum.

The Indonesian ambassador said these things

Apart from that, Indonesian Ambassador Ina H. Krishnamurthy praised the Indian presidency for promoting inclusion in the G-20 group. According to him, the announcement of India’s presidency in the group of 20 major economies was seen as a milestone in overcoming deep differences of opinion surrounding the conflict in Ukraine. Krishnamurthy praised India for including the African Union as a full member of the G20 and increasing inclusion. He said that India’s G20 presidency was a historic initiative.

The ambassadors of Italy and Indonesia said this at a discussion held ahead of the launch of the book titled “India’s G20 Legacy: Shaping a New World Order”. Edited by Manish Chand, the book includes essays by diplomats and strategic affairs experts that shed light on India’s G20 presidency. Editing of the book includes South African Foreign Minister GNM Pandor, G20 Sherpa in India Amitabh Kant, Italian Ambassador Luca and Brazilian Ambassador Kenneth Felix Hajinski de Noberga.
