After heavy rains and floods in Dubai, the operation of the air services of the Indian airlines was affected. Air India, Air India Express and SpiceJet have canceled or rescheduled their flights due to worsening conditions due to the rain at Dubai Airport. There is a very busy air traffic between India and Dubai. On one hand, Air India canceled all its flights to Dubai on Friday due to operational problems at the airport, and on the other hand, Air India Express and Indigo Airlines also canceled some of their flights.

Notice issued by Dubai Airport

Dubai Airports has issued a “Notome” (Notice to Aircraft), banning the operation of flights by non-UAE operators until the morning of April 21, sources said. Accordingly, non-UAE operators were asked to reduce operations by 50 percent.

Air India has canceled flights

Meanwhile, an Air India spokesperson said that due to ongoing operational issues at the Dubai airport, the airline has canceled flights to and from Dubai on Friday. Air India currently operates 72 weekly flights to Dubai from five Indian cities, of which 32 are from Delhi. Apart from this, Air India Express operates 84 weekly flights to Dubai.

On the other hand, SpiceJet shared a post on Twitter saying that due to rain and floods, some of their flights will now operate from Fujairah.

Air India Express services also went awry

On the other hand, the Air India Express flight to Dubai was diverted towards Muscat due to restrictions. The airlines reduced the operation of 50% of their regular flights. A spokesman for the airline said that this was done in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Dubai Airports Authority. The airlines are closely monitoring the developments.

IndiGo has canceled some flights

On the other hand, an Indigo Airlines official said some flights from Dubai were canceled on Friday. No response was provided by Vistra in this matter. Let us tell you that due to artificial rain in Dubai on Tuesday, life went awry and Dubai International Airport was flooded.

Indigo Airlines will start air service between Chennai and Durgapur from May 16.

Indigo Airlines on Friday announced direct flights between Chennai and Durgapur in West Bengal from May 16. The airline said in a statement that the company will operate direct flights between the two cities three times a week on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Flights from Chennai will depart for Durgapur at 5:45 AM and arrive there at 8:25 AM. The return flight will take off from Durgapur at 8:55 AM and land in Chennai at 11:25 AM. The statement said the direct flight to Durgapur will increase local connectivity with the Tamil Nadu capital.
