Election Commission notice to Prime Minister Modi, Rahul Gandhi for violating the code of conduct Achi-News

New Delhi: The Election Commission has taken action against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi in the Code of Conduct Violation case.

The Election Commission has issued a notice to the BJP and the Congress regarding the speech of Prime Minister Modi and Rahul Gandhi. The Election Commission sought a reply from BJP president JP Nadda and Congress President Mallikarjuna Kharge by April 29. Congress filed a complaint against Prime Minister Modi to the Election Commission, while BJP filed a complaint against Rahul Gandhi .

Alleging that the BJP and the Congress are creating hatred and division on the basis of religion, caste, community and language, both sides have been directed to file their reply by 11 am on April 29.

The Electoral Commission has asked the presidents of both parties to respond under Section 77 of the Representation of the People Act. Congress President Mallikarjuna Kharge has accused Prime Minister Modi and BJP president JP Nadda of violating Rahul Gandhi’s code of conduct.

Speeches by high-ranking leaders can have even more serious consequences. Therefore the political parties must take full responsibility for the behavior of their candidates, especially star campaigners, said the commission.

Why did the Election Commission send a notice?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said on April 21 at a rally in Rajasthan’s Banswara that if the Congress government comes to power, people’s property will be taken away and distributed to those who have more children and infiltrations. Prime Minister Modi said that it is written in the Congress manifesto that when the government is formed, we will count the gold of mothers and sisters and share the information. The Congress had complained to the Election Commission about this statement by Prime Minister Modi. The Congress had accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of violating the code of conduct.

At the same time, the BJP had complained to the Election Commission about Rahul Gandhi’s use of language and words in his rallies. The BJP had accused Rahul Gandhi of trying to create confusion in Tamil Nadu on the basis of language. The BJP leaders had said that Rahul Gandhi in his speech was trying to divide North and South India on the basis of language. In its written complaint, the BJP had demanded strict action against Rahul Gandhi.
