Dry days in Kamrup (Metro) from April 17 to April 19 for Meghalaya LS polls Achi-News

Guwahati: The Kamrup (Metro) administration has declared dry days in the district, including Guwahati, from April 17 to April 19.

This was done in view of the first phase of the general elections to the parliamentary constituencies in Meghalaya to be held on April 19.

The ban will be in effect from 16:00 on April 17 until the end of voting on April 19.

During this period, all IMFL Wholesale Warehouses, Bonded Warehouses, ON and OFF Retail Stores, Micro Breweries and Liquor Stores will remain closed, as per the official order.

Any violation of the order will be dealt with according to the relevant provision of the Assam Excise Act and Rules and according to the provision of section 135 (c) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 regarding the holding of the first phase of the general elections, 2024 in the state of Meghalaya, according to a notification issued by the Excise Department.
